NRA, Where Are You? An open letter.

Dear NRA,

Well the trial has come and gone and the person WITH the gun has killed the person WITHOUT the gun, and has been found innocent. Still believe in that "guns don't kill people" crap? Now I am aware that you, the NRA has a new president. That your crazy ex-president Wayne Lapierre was put out to pasture, which was a good move on your part, but I am unnerved by your silence. It's deafening!

It seems that after the tragic events that were Aurora CO., Newton CT., Boston, and after what happened to Gabby Giffords, Wayne came out stating that what every school needed was armed guards. He said, after Boston, "How many Bostonians wish they had a gun two weeks ago?" in a speech he gave back in May to your throng. Wayne was calling for more guns to be on the streets because he feels the more guns there are, the less tragedies there will be. That's like saying the more cars there are on the road, the less auto accidents there will be. Isn't it funny though how Wayne and no one else from your organization is calling for youug Black teenagers to arm themselves?

What's wrong with young Black men and women getting strapped to protect themselves? You know how much money you guys could pull in in recruitment fees right now? Those kids parents just might join too, make it a family affair. Yet not a peep out of you guys. Is it because you don't think Black people should arm themselves? That can't be it, right? After all, aren't they Americans just like you? And don't you guys want ALL Americans to be protected? It's in the damn Second Amendment you guys shout out as loud as you can if you even think someone is coming to disarm you. "IT'S MY RIGHT!" you all scream, and remember when then president Charleton Heston said, "I'll give you my gun, when you pry it from my cold dead hands", and yet not one of you is screaming that Blacks should arm themselves after what happened to Oscar Grant III, Sean Bell, Trayvon Martin, or Darius Simmons. I wonder why that is? Does the thought of young Black and brown people gearing up and arming themselves make it harder for you to sleep at night? If so, why would it?

Maybe it's because of your current new president, a racist redneck idiot by the name of James Porter. An Alabama lawyer (just proves everyone's point about lawyers) who believes that the NRA was founded "by some Yankee generals who didn't like the way my southern boys had the ability to shoot in what we call the war of Northern Aggression. Now ya'll might call it the Civil War, but we call it the war of Northern Aggression down south". If that doesn't sound like a man still stuck in the past then I don't know what does. And this may be why you, the NRA has played the sidelines on this one. Your president definitely doesn't want to see your fellow Black and brown Americans armed and defending themselves from white aggressors. It's fine if they kill each other up in Chicago or Detroit, over in New York, L.A., D.C., or down in Miami, but you definitely don't want them armed and within the walls of your gated communities, hell that thought makes ME nervous for you.

You're all a bunch of fucking HYPOCRITES and cowards. Let a white school get shot up like Columbine or Newton and you want armed guards in every school. Let unarmed Black men get killed and you sit on your hands and close your mouths. And they call this the home of the brave, what a fucking joke.

Sincerely,

Me
