That is a mind blowing statement, as well as an eye opening one. Reason being is because there is no way Rush believes this by himself. There is no way in the world is he walking down this road alone. There are politicians, teachers, law makers, law men and woman, next door neighbors, co-workers, and even friends of yours who may secretly or even publicly feel this way.
The "get over it" mantra is something I have been hearing a lot of lately after the Zimmerman trial. I've also heard phrases like, "that was in the past," or, "you can't blame me for what my ancestors did," which is true. What is also true though is because of what some young white man or woman's ancestor did to those that look like me, it has a allowed that young white man or woman to live a life relatively free of struggle. Of course that's not all whites and I would never say all whites, but the fact cannot be denied that slavery, hundreds upon hundreds of years of free labor not only built this nation, but it also made many white people wealthy beyond imagination. I liken that to this analogy, it's like having a full time job where you make $80 to $100,000 yearly, and you pay no rent, no utilities, and you don't have to buy any food or clothes...EVER!
Now I am not advocating for white people to "feel guilty" about slavery, what's done is done dammit! But don't look upon me with fear or derision when it was your ancestor which brought my ancestor here in the first place. Yes, when you see a Black person know that you are seeing a victim of massive kidnapping, a survivor of systemic brainwashing, and family genocide. You are seeing a person whose ancestors survived the beatings, brutal and inhumane treatment, the horrible living conditions, the loss of our true beliefs in our God(s), and the complete annihilation of the Black family. But hey, feel no guilt Rush, that's cool.
I have always felt and firmly believe one of the worst things that has ever happened to the Black people in this country was the integration of the public school system. To tell a people who've been enforcing Jim Crow laws that they now have to send their children to school with children of a different hue was too much of a shock to their system, and I believe in ramped up racial hatred. I also believe telling Black parents and children that they will now be bused to white schools instead of having the school where their children were not only comfortable but SAFE be improved, instilled a mind numbing fear that to this day hasn't really subsided. Not to mention it put good Black teachers out of work and it gave some racist white teachers, some of whom were firm believers in Jim Crow, the ability to destroy self confidence, character, and motivation of young Black children. In short it allowed those teachers to destroy those children.
While I know some do not agree with me on that point, what we all can agree on is just how stupid and foolish people like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Ted Nugent, Rand Paul, Steve King, Jan Brewer and so man others make white people seem. Like I said before white people, you have crazy in your house, and you need to do something about it...quickly!

Rush is a complete embarrassment. I wish somehow that we could flush rush down the toilet, but he wouldn't fit! Errrr...
ReplyDeleteA few facts that boggle my mind as to how he has any sort of following. Then again it simply proves that if you tell people what they WANT to hear rather than the truth of what they NEED to hear, you can be popular and cool too. Sheep. Sheep. Sheep.
-He's a college drop out. "According to his mother, 'he flunked everything', and 'he just didn't seem interested in anything except radio.'" Apparently he was simply loved to hear himself talk.
Drug addict. Prescription drug fraud charges magically dropped and expunged. Hmmmm...Family ties to federal judges are oh so helpful!
Errrrrr!!!! WHY do fools like Rush and Palin miraculously rise above their idiocy and get any credit for any thing??? ~sigh~ Pathetic.
BTW...I had to go back and edit out all of the cussing. lol
