So I came across something the other day about the KKK, yes those backwards asses that dress in sheets are still around. These brain dead idiots held a rally in a little town called Spirit Lake which is in Idaho. Now if you didn't know or were unaware, Idaho is the whitest state in the country so typically in the past, white supremacist groups have found a home there, which just makes sense. You wouldn't start a faction of the Black Panther Party there, just like the Klan wouldn't have a recruitment march in Chicago, New York, or D.C.
To be fair, I have criticized White America for not stepping up to the plate and coming down on the crazy in their house, and there is a lot of crazy. Far too often White America has plunged their heads in the sands and have chosen to ignore the crazies, which has driven me crazy by the way. If you have a drunk uncle at the family outing, don't you try to keep him away from mucking up some other family's day? Of course you do, but White America has seen fit to leave that drunk uncle alone and let him go rampaging through the country, messing up everyone else's day. That was until Spirit Lake, Id.
Spirit Lake is a small town, a population no great than 2000 people as of the 2010 census, yet it seems the people of Spirit Lake take that word spirit literally. On July 27th, the KKK held a rally, a sort of meet and greet with the people of Spirit Lake and things didn't quite go the way the Klan wanted them to go or thought they would. Instead of them being surrounded by a rapt audience who would drink in their message of hate, intolerance, bigotry, and fear, the Klan instead found themselves and their message rejected outright.
The Klan was outnumbered by law enforcement and people protesting their presence, not that many were needed. The Klan and their supporters numbered six while twelve law enforcement officials and eleven protesters showed up to shout them down. I know, I know, not big numbers but that doesn't make this any less important. White America has grabbed that drunk uncle for the time being, sat his ass down on a bench somewhere, and told him not to move. I applaud you Spirit Lake and I can only hope that you guys are the spark that sets a revolution ablaze.
