If I were to ever adopt someone Caucasian to be a hero of mine, or if someone asked me if there were ever a white man I could point to and say I was proud of, it would have to be the writer, essayist, and lecturer Tim Wise.
Tim Wise, in all the years since I've become aware of the man has told such searing truth that I couldn't help but become a fan. He speaks so matter-of-factly about racial issues and the inequities Blacks have had to endure while living in this country that I have often worried for his life. He gives you nothing candy or sugar coated, it's the unvarnished and unprocessed truth that everyone should hear, and he has done it again. Tim's logic, passion, and unvarnished truth are a such a breath of fresh air in a culture reeking of bullshit, political slant, and rating's bait. ~sigh~ Truth is the only way we will ever find our way of the mess we are buried in.
